For SDRs, inbound teams, and sales managers
Can an AI sales coach check BANT live on my qualification calls?
Yes. Add Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeline as call steps and upload the questions you use for each, and Amotions AI tracks them on Zoom, Teams, Meet, or dialer calls. A private checklist shows which ones are still open, and suggestions help the rep ask the next question naturally before booking the meeting.

How it works
How does BANT become a live checklist?
The four BANT items become steps under Organization settings → Playbooks, and the on-call checklist ticks each one off as the buyer answers it, in any order. Live suggestions come from your uploaded questions and what the buyer just said, so the rep is not reading a form aloud.
1Upload your qualification questions
Add the questions you use for budget, decision makers, need, and timing, your disqualification rules, and how you hand off to an AE. Amotions calibrates to your language, typically in about one week.
2Set the steps, reminders, and scorecard
Add Need, Budget, Authority, and Timeline as steps in Playbooks. Reminders can nudge the rep if an item has not come up after a set time. Add matching criteria in Scoring Config.
3Coach live, score, and rehearse
On the call, the overlay checks off each item and shows one suggestion at a time. It does not ask for what the buyer already said. Afterwards, the call is scored out of 100 against your criteria.
- SDRWhat made you reach out this week?
- Ops ManagerOur reps are inconsistent on calls, and my boss wants a fix before Q1.
Suggestion
Need and timing are clear. Ask who else will weigh in on the decision besides their boss.

What does a live BANT prompt look like?
Here is an illustrative inbound call. Need and timing are covered, and the buyer tries to wrap up with a request for pricing. The overlay notes that budget is still open and suggests a softer way to ask about it, in the team’s own wording.
- SDR:So you’d want something in place before the new hires start in January.
- Ops Manager:Exactly. Can you just send me pricing and I’ll look at it?
Suggestion
Budget is still open. Ask whether there is a set budget for this, or if they first need to build the case.

What the rep said next
“Happy to. So I send the right option, is there a budget set aside for this already, or would you be building the case for it?”

How is this different from post-call tools and roleplay apps?
Post-call tools flag missing BANT items once the call is over, and roleplay apps rehearse qualification before. Amotions shows what is still open during the call and adds practice and scoring on the same questions. For pipeline-wide reporting, post-call tools are the stronger choice.
| Question | Amotions AI | Post-call analytics tools | Roleplay-only tools |
|---|---|---|---|
| When it helps | During the live call, plus practice before and scoring after. | After the call, from the recording or transcript. | Before the call, in practice sessions. |
| Catching a missing item | Shows which items are still open while the buyer is on the line. | Flags the gap once the call is over, so it is asked on the next call. | Builds the habit on practice buyers, not real leads. |
| Uses your own questions and wording | Suggestions and scorecards come from your uploaded questions and criteria. | Many let you define qualification trackers and scorecards. | Many let you build scenarios from your process. |
| Pipeline reporting across reps | Per-call scores and team review; not a pipeline reporting tool. | Stronger: dashboards and pipeline reporting across many calls and reps. | Not applicable: no real leads. |
| Visible to the buyer | No. A private overlay; it never joins the call as a bot. | Often a recorder or meeting bot joins; varies by product. | Not applicable: no buyer is present. |

FAQ
Questions people ask
Short, direct answers on how it works, what it needs from you, privacy, and pricing.
What does BANT stand for in sales?
Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeline. It is a short qualification checklist, widely credited to IBM’s sales organization: can the buyer pay, who decides, is there a real problem to solve, and when do they plan to act. Many teams now ask about need first, since it shapes the other three.
Can AI check BANT automatically during a live call?
Yes. Add the four items as steps under Organization settings → Playbooks, and the on-call checklist ticks each off when the buyer clearly answers it, in any order. Suggestions from your uploaded questions point the rep at what is still open.
Will it make my SDRs sound like they are reading a form?
No. The steps only drive the checklist and reminders. Live suggestions come from your uploaded questions and what the buyer just said, they are short nudges, and the rep says them in their own words. Amotions does not prompt for information the buyer already gave.
Should we use BANT or MEDDICC?
BANT is quick and suits SDR and inbound qualification. MEDDICC goes deeper for complex B2B deals with several stakeholders. Amotions coaches either, or both: BANT on first calls and MEDDICC fields on later discovery calls.
Can SDRs practice BANT qualification with AI roleplay?
Yes. An admin builds scenarios in Roleplay Config, such as a buyer who asks for pricing before sharing anything. Reps get a transcript, a score out of 100 against your criteria, and feedback, including on vocal tone and delivery.
Is Amotions affiliated with IBM or any BANT training company?
No. Amotions is not affiliated with or endorsed by IBM or any company that teaches BANT. BANT is a widely used qualification acronym; Amotions coaches from the questions and rules your team uploads.
How much does an AI sales coach for BANT qualification cost?
Basic is free and includes every Professional feature except custom AI agents, with limited usage, so you can test it on a real qualification call. Starter is $49/seat/month billed annually ($59 billed monthly). Every plan is listed on the Amotions pricing page.
