How do I turn my best salesperson’s calls into a playbook?
Collect five to ten of their won calls and a few lost ones, transcribe them, and mark the moments that matter: how they open, the questions they ask, how they answer the top objections, and how they ask for the next step. Write those down in their words, test them in roleplay, and coach the team on them live.
What is Amotions AI?
Amotions AI is a real-time private AI sales coach that delivers in-call guidance, AI roleplay, and post-call scorecards—trained on the customer’s playbook. It does not join meetings as a bot.
Why “just listen to Sarah’s calls” does not scale
Most small teams have one person who closes far more than everyone else, and no written script. New reps shadow them, pick up a few lines, and miss the rest. The owner or manager spends evenings on ride-alongs that do not stick.
The fix is to turn what the top performer actually says into something written, practiced and checked on every call.
Step 1: collect the right calls
Pick five to ten recent calls your top performer won, and three to five they lost. Lost calls matter: they show where even the best rep gets stuck.
Use recordings where your recording rules allow it, or transcripts from your meeting tool. Label each call won or lost before you look at it.
Step 2: mark the moments that matter
Read or listen for six things and copy the exact words:
•
The opener: the first minute, and how they set the agenda.
•
Discovery questions: which questions they ask, and in what order.
•
The pivot: how they connect what the buyer said to the offer.
•
Objection answers: the three or four objections that come up most, and what they say to each.
•
Price: how they say it, and what they do right after.
•
The close: how they ask for the next step.
Step 3: compare won and lost calls
Put won and lost calls side by side. Usually the difference is not the pitch. It is a question asked early in won calls and skipped in lost ones, or an objection answered with a question instead of a rebuttal.
Those differences are the core of your playbook. Everything else is nice to have.
Step 4: write it down as steps and lines
Turn the notes into a one- or two-page playbook: the call steps in order, two or three questions per step, and the exact objection answers in the top performer’s words. Ask them to check it: “Is this what you say?”
Keep it short. A playbook nobody reads does not change any calls.
Step 5: practice, use live, and check
Have each rep practice the playbook in roleplay until they can say the lines naturally. Then use it on real calls and score each call against the steps.
Review a few calls a week. When a new objection shows up, add the best answer to the playbook.
How Amotions AI helps with each step
Upload recordings (MP3, WAV, M4A and other audio formats) or transcripts (TXT, VTT, SRT or JSON), up to 25 MB each, and label each one successful or unsuccessful. Meeting success insights shows what separates meetings that ended with an agreed next step from the rest.
Admins set your call steps, substeps and reminders in Organization settings, and upload your playbook, objection answers and talk tracks. Live prompts can then show your top performer’s exact wording on every rep’s calls, and the Playbook panel checks off steps as they happen.
AI roleplay scenarios use the same playbook and can be scored with the same criteria as real calls, so reps practice the top performer’s answers before they need them.
Frequently asked questions
Q1.
How many calls do I need to build a playbook?
A.
Five to ten won calls and a few lost ones is enough to start. Add to it as new objections come up.
Q2.
What if my best rep does not follow a script?
A.
Most do not. Their calls still have a pattern; the steps above help you find it and write it down.
Q3.
Can AI write the playbook from call recordings?
A.
AI can find patterns and draft it, but have your top performer and manager check every line. The words have to sound like your team.
Q4.
Will reps sound like copies of the top performer?
A.
Not if they practice until the lines feel natural. Keep the questions and the structure; let the delivery be their own.
