Does AI sales coaching work on desk phones, cell phones and RingCentral? A setup guide by phone type

Softphone or browser dialer (RingCentral app, Zoom Phone, Dialpad, Aircall, GoHighLevel, Kixie and similar): the best setup. Take calls on the computer with a headset, open the Amotions desktop app, and click Start when the call begins. The coach hears both sides through computer audio.

RingCentral desk phone: if the call rings the physical handset, the computer cannot hear it. Switch to the RingCentral app on your computer for coached calls, or put the desk phone on speaker next to the computer.

Cell phone: take sales calls through a softphone or dialer on the computer when you want coaching. If the call has to be on your cell, put it on speaker next to the computer running the desktop app.

Speakerphone in general: the computer’s microphone hears both voices on one channel, so telling the rep and the buyer apart is harder and prompts can be less accurate. Use a quiet room and test a few calls before you rely on it.

In-person meetings: run the desktop app on a laptop in the room and click Start.

•

No computer at all (driving, on site): live coaching is not possible. Record the call where it is allowed and upload it afterward for a score and feedback.

Install the desktop app and sign in.

Make a test call from your usual phone setup to a colleague.

3.

Click Start and have your colleague raise a common objection.

4.

Check two things: does the transcript show both voices, and does a prompt appear after they stop talking?

5.

Open the call report afterward and check that the right lines are labeled as you and as the buyer.

Only my voice is in the transcript: the call is on a handset or a headset connected to the phone, not the computer. Move the call to the computer or use speaker.

The browser tab missed the caller but the desktop app worked: use the desktop app for dialers. In customer setups it has picked up dialer audio more reliably than a shared browser tab.

Prompts are slow on speakerphone: one-channel audio takes longer to sort out who is speaking. A headset on a softphone fixes this.

Coaching started on its own and used my hours: the desktop app starts automatically on Zoom, Teams and Meet. For phone calls you click Start yourself.
