Direct answer
Do live AI sales prompts distract reps during calls?
They can if there are too many, they are too long, or the rep reads them out word for word. Set fewer prompts per minute, show only the latest one, put the overlay where the rep’s eyes already are, and coach reps to glance, not read. Used that way, live prompts work like a GPS: quiet until you need them.
What is Amotions AI?
Amotions AI is a real-time private AI sales coach that delivers in-call guidance, AI roleplay, and post-call scorecards—trained on the customer’s playbook. It does not join meetings as a bot.
The objection, in buyers’ own words
On demo calls, sales leaders put it in different ways: “My reps will stare at the screen instead of the customer.” “It will make weak sellers worse.” “Our sales are relationship sales; I don’t want them sounding scripted.” Revenue operations teams often add: “Post-call analysis is enough.”
These are fair concerns. A coach that talks constantly is worse than no coach. The question is how to set it up so it only speaks when it helps.
When live prompts help, and when they get in the way
Live prompts help most when the rep does not know what to say next: a new hire on their first calls, an experienced rep in a new product or industry, an objection they rarely hear, or a step they tend to skip.
They get in the way when they arrive every few seconds, when each one is a paragraph, or when the rep reads them aloud instead of putting them in their own words. Buyers notice a rep who sounds like they are reading.
A useful comparison is a GPS. On a road you know, you barely look at it. In a new city, you glance at it at every turn. Nobody reads a GPS out loud.
Five settings and habits that keep reps focused on the buyer
1.
Fewer prompts. Start experienced reps at two to four suggestions per minute and newer reps higher. Let each rep adjust it after a week.
2.
Only the latest prompt. A single short line is easier to glance at than a list.
3.
Put the overlay next to the buyer’s face on screen, or on a second monitor, so a glance does not look like looking away.
4.
Load your own talk tracks. Prompts in your team’s words are shorter and easier to say naturally than generic advice.
5.
Coach the habit: glance, decide, say it your way. If a prompt does not fit the moment, ignore it.
How to test it before you roll it out
Pick two reps: one new and one experienced. Run live coaching on a week of real calls with the settings above. Then ask them three questions: Did you ever lose your place because of a prompt? Which prompts did you actually use? What would you turn off?
Compare the call scores and the post-call talk-to-listen time with the week before. If the experienced rep found it noisy, lower their prompt count rather than dropping live coaching altogether.

How Amotions AI is built for this
Amotions AI shows a short prompt in a private overlay on the rep’s screen after a short pause in speech, about 1.5 seconds, and the prompt itself usually appears about 2 seconds after the buyer stops talking. Other people on the call do not see it, and the overlay stays hidden when the rep shares their screen.
Each rep chooses how many suggestions appear per minute, from 1 to 12 (the default is 8), and that setting is saved for them. Compact view, the default, shows only the latest suggestion. Expanded view keeps every suggestion from the call in a list.
Prompts come from your uploaded playbook, objection answers and talk tracks, so they can use your team’s exact wording. Amotions does not currently give live talk-time or monologue alerts; talk-to-listen time and pace are shown in the report after the call.
If a team wants no live screen at all, the same scoring and feedback work on uploaded recordings and transcripts after the call, and reps can practice in AI roleplay before calls.
Frequently asked questions
Q1.
Will reps sound scripted with live AI prompts?
A.
Only if they read prompts word for word. Short prompts in your team’s own language, plus the habit of saying it in your own words, keep reps sounding natural.
Q2.
Is real-time coaching better than post-call coaching?
A.
They do different jobs. Live prompts help in the moment; post-call scoring shows patterns across calls. Most teams use both. See real-time vs post-call coaching.
Q3.
How many live suggestions should a rep see?
A.
Start low for experienced reps, two to four a minute, and higher for new hires. In Amotions AI each rep can set 1 to 12 per minute.
Q4.
Can the buyer see the prompts?
A.
No. The overlay is only on the rep’s screen and stays hidden during screen share.
Q5.
What if a rep does not want live coaching?
A.
They can turn it off for a call or use only roleplay and post-call scoring. Forcing it on a rep who finds it noisy usually backfires.
