How do you get sales reps to use AI roleplay?

Make it short, make it real, and make it count. Build scenarios from the objections your reps hear this week, make the AI buyer as tough as real buyers, set a target score reps must reach before taking a type of call, and review the scores in your weekly one-on-ones. Practice that is optional and generic gets skipped.

What is Amotions AI?

Amotions AI is a real-time private AI sales coach that delivers in-call guidance, AI roleplay, and post-call scorecards—trained on the customer’s playbook. It does not join meetings as a bot.

Why reps skip roleplay

Sales owners buy roleplay tools and then find that only one or two reps use them. The reasons are usually the same: the scenario does not sound like their buyers, the AI buyer gives in too easily, it takes too long, and nobody checks.

Some teams also feel awkward talking to an AI. That fades after a few sessions, but only if the first ones feel useful.

Six things that get reps practicing

1.

Use real objections. Build each scenario from an objection your reps heard this week, in the buyer’s words. “I’m loyal to my current agent” beats “handle a price objection”.

2.

Make the buyer tough. If the AI buyer agrees after one good line, reps learn nothing. Add the challenges real buyers bring: interrupting, asking about price early, trying to get off the phone.

3.

Set a target score before live calls. For example: reach 80 on the renewal-call scenario before you take renewal calls on your own. One large commercial real estate firm uses scored roleplay as a gate before brokers take live owner conversations.

4.

Keep it short. Ten minutes at the start of the day, one scenario, is easier to keep up than a long weekly session.

5.

Lead from the top. When the owner or manager does the same scenarios and shares their own score, reps follow.

6.

Look at the scores. Bring roleplay scores into one-on-ones. If nobody looks, practice stops within a month.

What to practice first

•

New hires: the opener, discovery questions and the top three objections, until they hit the target score.

•

Experienced reps: the objection or step where their real call scores are lowest.

•

Everyone: a new product, a price change, or a new objection, before it shows up on live calls.

How Amotions AI supports this

Admins create custom roleplays in Organization settings under Roleplay Config: the rep’s role, the role the AI buyer plays, and scenarios with a description, an optional objection and challenges to practice.

Each scenario can be scored with the same criteria you use for real calls, so a practice score means the same as a call score. Reps see their results under Roleplay Scores, and managers can compare practice with live call scores to decide what to practice next.

Because roleplay uses your uploaded playbook, reps practice the same answers the live coach suggests on real calls.

Frequently asked questions

Q1.

How often should sales reps do roleplay?

A.

A short session most days works better than a long one occasionally. Ten minutes on one scenario is enough.

Q2.

What if my team feels awkward practicing with AI?

A.

Start with one easy scenario, then make it harder. Most reps stop feeling awkward after a few sessions, especially once they see their score improve.

Q3.

Should roleplay be required?

A.

Tie it to something real, such as a target score before taking a certain type of call. Required practice with no clear reason gets done badly.

Q4.

Can AI roleplay match my industry?

A.

Yes, if you build scenarios from your own objections and upload your playbook. See custom AI roleplay scenarios from your playbook.
