Which dialers support live AI coaching: Five9, ViciDial, or CallTools?
On the vendors’ own sites, only Five9 advertises built-in real-time AI guidance, through its Agent Assist product. ViciDial and CallTools describe recording and manager listen-in, whisper, or barge rather than AI coaching. Any of them can run beside a separate AI coaching overlay on the agent’s computer, and none of this requires changing your dialer infrastructure.
What is Amotions AI?
Amotions AI is a real-time private AI sales coach that delivers in-call guidance, AI roleplay, and post-call scorecards—trained on the customer’s playbook. It does not join meetings as a bot.
What does “live AI coaching” mean on a dialer floor?
Live AI coaching means software that listens to a call as it happens and shows the agent a private cue: a question to ask, a reminder of a required step, or a response to the objection the customer just raised. The customer never hears it.
It is different from three things dialers have offered for years. Call recording captures the call for later review. Manager monitoring (listen-in, whisper, and barge) puts a human supervisor on the call, which works for one agent at a time. Scripting shows the same static text to every agent regardless of what the customer says.
So the practical question for a team on Five9, ViciDial, or CallTools is not “can I record calls” but “can each agent get timely, specific guidance on every call without a manager on the line?”
What does each dialer say about live coaching?
Each row below reflects what the vendor’s own website said when we checked it on September 26, 2026. Vendors change their products; confirm current capabilities with each vendor.
| Dialer | What the vendor describes | Built-in live AI guidance | Human coaching tools | Pricing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Five9 | Cloud contact center | Yes: AI Agent Assist with real-time guidance cards, checklists, and real-time transcription | Confirm with Five9 | Contact Five9 sales |
| ViciDial | Open-source (AGPLv2) inbound/outbound contact center suite on Asterisk, with a browser-based agent interface | Not described on the vendor’s site | Integrated call recording; manager listen-in and the ability to enter a conversation | No software licensing cost, per ViciDial; confirm hosting and support costs |
| CallTools | Cloud dialer with predictive, power, preview, progressive, and parallel modes plus built-in CRM, SMS, and email | Not advertised on the pages we checked; confirm with CallTools | Call recording, silent monitoring, whisper coaching, and barge | Contact CallTools sales |
Does Five9 have live AI coaching built in?
Yes, according to Five9. Its Agent Assist page describes an AI-powered set of capabilities that includes real-time transcription and real-time guidance cards and checklists that recommend actions to agents during a conversation.
Teams already on Five9 should evaluate Agent Assist first and ask Five9 how guidance is configured, which languages and call types are covered, and how it is priced. A separate coaching overlay makes sense when a team wants coaching trained on its own sales playbook, AI roleplay practice, or the same coaching on non-Five9 conversations such as Zoom meetings.
Does ViciDial have live AI coaching built in?
Not according to its own site. ViciDial describes itself as an open-source contact center suite that works with the Asterisk phone system, with an agent interface that runs in a web browser. Its feature list includes integrated call recording, manager listen-in, and the ability for managers to enter a conversation. We did not find built-in AI coaching described there.
That is common for ViciDial floors: the dialer is flexible and low-cost to license, and coaching is either done by managers on a few calls or added with another tool. Because the ViciDial agent screen runs in a browser, an overlay coach can sit beside it on the same computer.
Does CallTools have live AI coaching built in?
CallTools describes itself as a cloud dialer with multiple dialing modes, a built-in CRM, SMS, and email, dynamic scripting, and call recording. For coaching, its features page lists silent monitoring, whisper coaching, and barge, all of which involve a manager on the call.
The CallTools pages we checked did not advertise AI coaching. If that matters to your team, confirm with CallTools directly, since product lines change.
How does an AI coaching overlay work beside any of these dialers?
An overlay does not plug into the dialer. It listens to the call audio on the agent’s own computer and shows private guidance in a separate window, while the dialer keeps doing what it already does: dialing, routing, recording, and dispositions.
This is how Amotions AI works with all three. For ViciDial and CallTools, agents use the desktop app or a browser tab share beside the agent screen, with speaker or headset audio routing. For Five9 voice on a Mac or Windows computer, teams can test the desktop app with computer audio or, when the whole call runs in a browser tab, a browser tab-and-audio share. Amotions has no native Five9, ViciDial, or CallTools API integration. It does not control campaigns, queues, routing, or dispositions in any of them.
None of this requires changing dialer infrastructure. You do not migrate lists, rebuild campaigns, or replace your phone system. Because audio routing, browser permissions, headsets, and virtual desktops vary, validate the setup in a short pilot with a few agents first.

The screenshot above is the desktop app on a real call. The suggestion card appears as the customer speaks, and the Steps tracker shows where the agent is in the call flow. On a dialer floor, the steps and suggestions come from your own scripts and approved rebuttals.
What changes for managers when every call gets live guidance?
Listen-in, whisper, and barge are valuable, but they scale with manager hours. A manager who can sit on a handful of calls an hour leaves most of the floor uncoached, and new agents usually need help on exactly the calls nobody hears.
Per-call guidance shifts the manager’s job. Instead of rescuing individual calls, managers decide what the guidance should say: which discovery questions matter, which rebuttals are approved, and which compliance steps must happen on every call. They then review afterwards whether agents followed the prompts and where they struggled, and spend their live monitoring time on the agents who need it most.
It also changes how new agents ramp. Practising the hardest objections in AI roleplay before the first shift, and then seeing the same approved responses as live prompts, means the playbook an agent trained on is the one they see on the call.
None of this replaces the dialer’s own monitoring tools. Whisper and barge are still the right tools when a call is going wrong and a human needs to step in.
Which setup fits which team?
•
Five9 teams that want guidance inside the Five9 agent experience: evaluate Five9 Agent Assist.
•
Five9 teams that want coaching trained on a sales playbook, roleplay practice, or the same coach on Zoom and phone: pilot an overlay beside Five9 on a computer-based call.
•
ViciDial floors: an overlay beside the browser agent screen is the practical path to live AI coaching, plus upload of ViciDial recordings for post-call scoring.
•
CallTools teams: keep using whisper and barge for manager coaching, and add an overlay for per-call AI guidance when CallTools audio is available on the agent’s computer, plus upload of recordings for scoring.
•
Teams that want an AI voice agent that talks to customers, or a replacement dialer: those are different categories from a coaching overlay.
What should you check before a pilot?
•
Does the coach hear both sides of the call on your actual headsets and operating systems?
•
Are prompts timely enough to be useful, not a sentence behind the conversation?
•
Does it use your approved scripts and rebuttals rather than generic advice?
•
Is it private to the agent, with nothing spoken into the call?
•
Have your compliance and privacy teams approved recording, transcription, and AI processing for these calls?
•
Can managers review afterwards whether agents followed the prompts?
Frequently asked questions
Q1.
Does Five9 have built-in AI coaching?
A.
Five9 describes an AI Agent Assist product with real-time transcription and real-time guidance cards and checklists. Confirm configuration, coverage, and pricing with Five9.
Q2.
Does ViciDial support live AI coaching?
A.
ViciDial’s own site describes call recording and manager listen-in, not built-in AI coaching. Teams add live AI coaching with an overlay beside the browser-based agent screen.
Q3.
Does CallTools have AI coaching?
A.
The CallTools pages we checked describe call recording, silent monitoring, whisper coaching, and barge, not AI coaching. Confirm current features with CallTools.
Q4.
Do I need to change my dialer to add live AI coaching?
A.
No. An overlay such as Amotions AI runs on the agent’s computer beside the dialer, so dialing, routing, and dispositions stay where they are. None of this requires changing dialer infrastructure.
Q5.
Is Amotions AI a native integration with Five9, ViciDial, or CallTools?
A.
No. Amotions works alongside them as a private desktop or browser overlay using computer audio or a tab share, plus upload of recordings for post-call scoring. It does not use their APIs or control their campaigns.

Who Amotions is not for
Amotions is built to coach reps while the conversation is happening. It is not the right fit for:
- Teams that only need post-call analytics. Amotions scores calls after they end, but it is built to guide reps during the live call. If you never want in-call guidance, a conversation intelligence platform is the closer fit.
- Teams that require a native dialer integration. Amotions runs as a private overlay beside ViciDial, CallTools, GoHighLevel, and browser dialers on the rep’s computer. It does not plug into your dialer’s API or run inside your phone system. How Amotions works with dialers
- Teams that need CRM auto-fill as the core job. Salesforce is the only native CRM connector today, and its optional writeback adds a Task with the call summary rather than updating Opportunity or Lead fields. HubSpot, GoHighLevel, and Pipedrive have no native connector. CRM integration details
- Reps who take calls only on a mobile phone. Live coaching runs on a Mac or Windows computer that can hear the call. There is no mobile app.
